Entanglements (II) - Kelp knots washed ashore at San Simeon

Walking the beach at San Simeon toward the bluffs after this winter's big storm, we encountered enormous tangles of uprooted kelp on the beach, with its endless permutations of bulb, leaf, stalk, knot, wrap, nest.
