Devon Turnbull (OJAS) stereo system

Went with fam last night to see the Art of Noise exhibit at SF MOMA - a spectacular opportunity for music lovers, with a focus on the art and design aspects of music history in posters, album covers, and hardware. The poster and cover walls were mesmerizing, and went on forever; almost too hard to focus as your eye kept being pulled to the next. The hardware space was exhaustive - radios, turntables, speaker cabinets, reel-to-reel decks, high-end alien playback systems. Some things everyone will remember from teen years, but also tons of rare and strange gear. Finished with a listening experience I can barely describe - Devon Turnbull builds these incredible speaker cabinets and amplification chains, but also records music with a full-spectrum frequency response knowing he'll be able to play them back in an environment where people can actually appreciate everything he's laying down. The sense of presence was indescribable - certainly some of the best-sounding audio I've experienced. The spontaneous audience dancer up front was a trip. Show lasts through mid-August - ya gotta go!
